I definately do not need to go over gameplay with you. For the basic rules, go to the arcade nearest you. Additionally, there have been fewer BMS files for beginners recently, so if this is your first experience with a music game, I would recommend going to the arcade first.

Operation

I will only cover operation as it pertains to LR2.

# Ending a song
The song can be ended at any time by pressing the Esc key, right-clicking the mouse, or pressing START+SELECT on the controller. If you end a song normally, you can also exit by pressing START or SELECT. If you fail normally, the song will end. However, if you fail after having hit absolutely no notes since the start of the song, the score will not be recorded.

# Change Hi-Speed
While pressing and holding the START key or the SELECT key, you can raise the speed by pressing Key 2 or 4 on the controller, or lower the high speed by pressing Keys 1, 3, or 5. You can also change the speed with the Up and Down keys on the keyboard.

# Lane Cover
The Lane Cover will not be displayed unless you activate the Lane Cover option in the control panel. Press and hold the SELECT key or the START key and then press Key 6 to raise and Key 7 to lower the Lane Cover. You can also use the cursor keys to adjust the Lane Cover, and the mouse wheel as well. To remove the lane cover at high speed, press SELECT or START twice.
